PB&J :: Paul B. & Jessica.
She’s thorough. Very thorough. When we first met she asked me questions that I would only expect to come from a fellow professional. She had done her research, clearly.
He is the same. Thoughtful, slow to speak, eloquent and kind.
Paul smiled and nodded while I told him about meeting with Jessica for the first time. ’Sounds about right!’ he said.
It’s funny how first impressions can be so wrong. I expected I would have to encourage Pb&J throughout our time together, whether it was a creative pose, or being brave and standing in front of a large group of people at Union Station in Downtown LA. I was wrong. Jessica had a plan. 3 locations on an engagement shoot? That’s ambitious to say the least… I showed up and tried to keep up. PB&J showed me the places that are most dear to them. The common thread between the locations we visited was that it made them think of each other.

We started our day at Monrovia Canyon Park where Paul & Jessica enjoy hiking together.

From Monrovia we jumped on the Metro and rode it over to Los Angeles to take photos at Union Station. Paul & Jessica enjoy food & travel, so this was our attempt to capture that part of them.
The Colorado bridge in Pasadena is where their (inadvertent) first date and engagement took place. It was only fitting to take their engagement AND wedding day photos there. Of course Jessica had chosen a venue that was close enough to allow that on the wedding day. Did I mention she’s a good planner?
Pb&J LOVE Pasadena so we tried to incorporate historic buildings and landmarks. The shot of the dress in the window has the Pasadena City Court in the background. This same building can be seen on the replica vintage postcards PB&J used on their wedding invitations.
The ceremony took place at a secluded little portion of Fuller Seminary.
Sharing is caring Paul. I think all married men know ‘the look’ all too well…

Rings engraved with ‘Ephesians’ Paul & Jessica – PB&J’s wedding in Pasadena, California at the beautiful Shakespeare Club.
When I found out Paul’s ring was engraved with ‘Ephesians’ I wanted to get a bible to take some creative photos. The only one we could find belonged to the caretaker of the historic Shakespeare club…. aaaaand he speaks Dutch. I thought it actually worked since we were trying to work in the love of travel idea!
